Show Notes

We have an amazing topic that we’re going to be discussing today that you won’t want to miss!  Today, Dr. Katie talks with Dr. Petra Sullwold!  She graduated from Life West Chiropractic College in 2007 and received her Animal Chiropractic Certification through Options for Animals in 2008. She has been an avid equestrian since age four. Before becoming a Chiropractor Dr. Petra was an Equine Sports Massage Therapist for 10 years.

She currently operates two businesses: Mancos Chiropractic, a three-doctor chiropractic practice for humans and small animals, and Equus Chiropractic which solely focuses on equine chiropractic. She travels all over the state of Colorado adjusting Top Level Competition horses to Backyard ponies. She loves the variety of her work and has a deep passion for chiropractic history and philosophy as it pertains to animal chiropractic. She has spent countless hours at the Palmer Davenport Archives to gain a deeper understanding of animal chiropractic’s past.

What many chiropractors don’t understand is that animal chiropractic may not be covered under your human chiropractic statute in your place of residency. With this knowledge, Dr. Petra started to gain traction in the state of Colorado to help change the laws so animals could have access to well-qualified, certified, and licensed professionals. She and many others worked tirelessly to change these laws between the veterinary medical association and the Colorado Chiropractic Association. After a full year of negotiations, their Chiropractic Practice Act was passed allowing Doctors of Chiropractic to adjust animals!

So join us today to learn how you can start navigating change where you live to help animals have access to chiropractic care!
